When Politicians Hesitate, the Sheriff Acts | 03-17-26

Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill is doing what too many politicians refuse to do — enforcing the law. After a judge ordered the release of a repeat offender with 35 arrests and a record that includes drug charges and involuntary manslaughter, Sheriff McMahill said no. He's now held 11 prisoners in defiance of four different judges, sparking a legal showdown headed to the Nevada Supreme Court.

In this episode of the Liberty Round Table, host Sam sits down with Sheriff Richard Mack of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA) to break down why this matters.

They discuss the role of the sheriff as the Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO), how cooperation between local sheriffs and federal authorities through programs like 287(g) can keep dangerous criminals off the streets without chaos, and why this model — not political debate — is the real solution to public safety.

This isn't about left or right. It's about the rule of law and keeping communities safe.
