* Opinion: Speaking truth to Nazi power - the courage and cost of defending free speech 82 years ago today, Helmuth was executed for speaking out against Hitler's Nazi Germany - Daniel Ortner, Deseret.com
* This was the day 82 years ago that one of my free-speech heroes, Helmuth, was executed for speaking out against Hitler's Nazi Germany. Helmuth was only a teenager, but his deeply held religious beliefs filled him with disgust at the antisemitism and bigotry that he witnessed in Nazi Germany. After Kristallnacht, "the night of broken glass" that resulted in the deaths of nearly 100 Jews in 1938, Helmuth stopped participating in the Hitler Youth (which was required at the time).
* Standing up for free speech can be costly. October 27 is one of the days that reminds me of that fact.

* PHIL LYMAN and NATALIE CLAWSON ARE STILL RUNNING! - Phil Lyman Responds to Misleading Media Coverage Surrounding Richard Lyman Withdrawal!
The media coverage from this story has greatly contributed to the name confusion spectacle that began when Richard and Carol Lyman entered the race under questionable circumstances. While most headlines stated that it was Richard Lyman and his running mate who withdrew, news outlets universally led with photos of Phil Lyman.
* The Phil Lyman campaign still encourages voters to write his first and last name on the write-in line, as recommended on the ballot itself.
