[00:00:04] Broadcasting live from atop the Rocky Mountains, the crossroads of the West, you are listening to the Liberty Roundtable Radio Talk Show. Newt Gingrich in the news. Donald Trump invokes French riots. U.S. Chamber of Commerce makes an endorsement. Should they be doing that?
[00:00:30] Trump orders. Yeah, Trump's doing a lot of orders. A lot of ordering around. Trump announces $8 billion. And Trump's approval rate takes a tank. Happy to have you along, my fellow Americans. I'm Sam Bushman, hard-hitting news network reviews to use. No doubt starts now. Lowell Nelson with me, ladies and gentlemen. Former Congressional Chief of Staff. Wow.
[00:00:55] Now, speechwriter, he was the national campaign manager for Ron Paul back in the day. LowellNelson.com is his website. He currently hosts Hour of Decision right here on Liberty News Radio on the weekends. LibertyNewsRadio.com. Check out Hour of Decision. He also wrote an incredible book, Forerunner, The Unlikely Role of Ron Paul. Lowell Nelson, welcome back, sir. Thanks, Sam. Appreciate it.
[00:01:23] There's so much going on, man. It's hard to even know where to start, but let's just kick this off. Trump's approval rating reaches a low of 31% in a new Reuters-Ipsos poll. The survey completed on Monday found that only 31% of U.S. adults approve of Trump's performance. They say it's the lowest rating across either presidency. I don't know what that means. I assume that means his first presidency and his second one.
[00:01:53] It's the lowest. Registered voters favor Democratic congressional candidates. Over Republicans, they say 47% to 35%, but the survey included over 1,600 adults has a margin of two points. Error, three points for registered voters. Anyway, very interesting kind of a poll. Do you think it's accurate, first of all? I don't, Sam. I'm not saying that Trump's approval is just basking in approval right now. He's not.
[00:02:23] His approvals have been steadily going down. But I look at pollsters that are more skilled at polling MAGA, like Rich Barris, like Mark Mitchell, who used to be with Rasmussen. And they've got him like 38%, 39% right now. But that's plenty low, plenty low enough to have an impact on this midterm election. All right. So is it that they're inexperienced in polling, do you think?
[00:02:51] Or do you think they're trying to deceive the voters and kind of play a game and manipulate the outcome? In other words, if you just hear negative, negative, negative, negative all the time, it's hard to be positive, Lou. It's hard to be positive. I don't know what to say about that, Sam. The pollsters at large have been accused at rigging the polls against Trump.
[00:03:12] They've been accused by other people of not understanding how to poll the MAGA voter, who is very reticent, is more reticent than the average voter, to give his opinion in many cases. I don't know what the situation is with Reuters. I'd have to look at the crosstabs. I'd have to look at the sample to even have an opinion. But the media has been consistently downing him in these approvals. Yeah, I mean, 90% of the coverage for Trump is low or is negative, right?
[00:03:41] So, I mean, we know that already. The next poll says Democrats take 11-point lead on handling America's top priorities before the midterms. Democrats, or Gallup, this is Gallup poll now, finds 44% of Americans trust Democrats to handle the national problems they consider the most important. Democrats also lead 51% to 37% on keeping the country prosperous.
[00:04:09] Meanwhile, 59% describe Republicans as too extreme compared with 43% for Democrats, they say. The September survey released October 13th shows increased standing for Republicans before the midterms. I'm kind of seeing a pattern here. Oh, there is one. They just want to push this agenda, don't they? Well, I don't. I'm not talking about agenda.
[00:04:38] I think the true pattern is the electorate is very upset with the Republicans. And a lot of the Trump base, who feels total betrayal at this moment, is very upset with Trump. And, I mean, we'll see how much that affects various races. Every race has their own characteristic, has their own unique candidates, etc., in the midterm. But it does not look good for the Republicans. All right. Summarize.
[00:05:06] When you say MAGA or the former supporters of Trump are mad at Trump, break that down why you think that is. Well, there's a number of reasons, Sam. But the first one, and I'm going now on data that Rich Barris, who, to be totally candid, has worked for me twice, and I consider a friend. Rich Barris has identified the Epstein files, the Epstein cover-up, if you want to use that term,
[00:05:31] as a primary driver for the feeling of betrayal in the MAGA base and then the war. It just brings it home. Not just the war itself in Iran, but all of the secondary effects, including gas prices, food prices. I mean, diesel at $6.50 a gallon. And diesel costs go right into the supermarket. They almost immediately affect food prices because that's how the food gets to the supermarket.
[00:06:00] Yeah, whether you have a diesel or not, whether you drive one or not, isn't even that important just because, hey, it relates to everything we buy and everything we have comes either by train, diesel, by rail, and or by truck, diesel. And so that's kind of the big concern. Now, Donald Trump is canvassing, and I have a problem with the president even running around doing that. We're paying him a, what, $400,000 salary that I guess he's turned down.
[00:06:27] But at the same time, he's running around instead of doing the people's business, he's doing the candidate's business. That's a concern to me. They've always done this, but I think it's election fraud in my opinion, not when Trump does it, but when any president decides, I mean, when was the last time you could just take off your job and go do something else while you're on the job for a month and a half or two months? It's crazy. But Trump is now resorting to kind of fear tactics and kind of intimidation tactics.
[00:06:52] Trump invokes French riots in a push to defend Kansas Senate seat. Trump warned that an October 19th rally in Kansas that, hey, we could face kind of riots and civil unrest like France. He offered no evidence supporting the claim but made it anyway. Trump was campaigning for Republican Senator Roger Marshall. Kansas, by the way, has not even elected a Democrat since 1932.
[00:07:20] But they're fearful that there's going to be a loss. Here's Trump. Stake in this election. Just look at what's happening in France, a once great nation that is being conquered, looted and burned to the ground by migrants, jihadists and communists who hate Christianity. And they hate, frankly, the Western civilization itself.
[00:07:46] And as we're seeing in Europe, globalist left wing politicians have treasonously imported millions and millions of third world migrants who are totally incompatible with West. And they are incompatible with Western values. They despise everything about France. And they're destroying that country. And we're not going to let that happen to this country.
[00:08:13] There's so many things that Donald Trump says that are absolutely spot on right. And I believe he's spot on on this. The problem is we don't seem to be doing much more about it in our country necessarily. We are promised mass deportations. We haven't seen it. The list goes on and on. Lou Moore, what do you think of this? Trump's right on this, though. Well, Trump's right. But you pointed out the problem of him using it in election messaging.
[00:08:38] After the war, I would say the second biggest betrayal that the MAGA base is feeling and that is causing a movement in poll numbers, and it is causing a lack of participation on the part of the base in this election, at least what they've measured so far, is the lack of mass deportations, which he absolutely did promise. He also promised an end to H-1B visas. And we really have not seen it at all, right? No, we have not. He promised an end to H-1B visas.
[00:09:06] He let 500,000 Chinese students stay here. You know, he just the other day held up the Sudanese folks whose time had come to leave Sudanese refugees. He said, no, we're going to delay that. It's just been one thing after another. And it's been obvious, Sam, to a lot of us. Trump has gone back to the old Bush model of doing everything big business wants
[00:09:31] and then raising a ton of money and hoping that money, that cavalcade of money, will get them through an election after they have betrayed their voters. It's not going to work. It's not going to work this time. And the reason people chose MAGA is they were hoping for a big change. They were hoping it was going to look different. Now, Newt Gingrich comes out of the woodwork, too. Believe it or not, he hasn't really been any significant since the mid-'90s
[00:09:57] with the Republican freshman revolution, which turned out to be a massive failure. But here's Newt Gingrich. He believes Republicans are going to win and we're all being deceived. Check this out. Very deeply shaped by doing a movie called Nine Days That Changed the World. I remember. About Pope John Paul II, Saint John Paul II, going back to Poland for the first time in 1979 and shaking the entire Soviet empire.
[00:10:27] And his consistent statement, I was quoting Christ, was be not afraid. And I think my whole career, partly shaped by my father who spent, he was in World War II Korea and Vietnam, is you get up in the, I mean, as you know, we lost in 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90, and 92. And so we were going to get tired and quit. We had lots of opportunities.
[00:10:55] But I thought the country was at stake. And I thought, then you don't have any choice. So I think personally, I'll go out on a limb and say, I think the odds are much better than even that by election day, we will win one of the most shocking off-year elections in American history. What do you say to that, Lou Moore? Well, I got to tell you, Sam, I work for Newt. I know Newt.
[00:11:25] I worked with him. I worked for him in one election campaign. I love Newt, personally. He's dead wrong on this. He is totally wrong. He's totally mistaken about this. I mean, it is clear what's going on with this election. What we're talking about is the severity, I think, of the spanking that the Republicans are going to get here in a few days. Do you think he's right? Think he knows? No, he doesn't.
[00:11:55] No, I don't think he's right. I don't know what he's basing his view on. But again, I'm basing my view on the data I've looked at, the whole climate of the country right now, hundreds of people I've talked to in various walks of life, and then the very minute polling data that's been acquired by two other pollsters I respect the most who have been the most accurate, I might add. If you go back to the last five or six elections,
[00:12:24] the two pollsters that have been the most accurate in America have been Rich Barris and Mark Mitchell, period. And that's because they understand MAGA. They are MAGA, personally. They are America first types, patriotic types. And they're not telling us that. I mean, right now, Barris has a D11, D plus 11 generic ballot for the Congressionals. Not good.
[00:12:53] Not good. All they have to win is what? Trump is in Kansas. Why is he campaigning in Kansas? Kansas. It's because there's hardly a place in the country. Exactly. There's hardly a place in this country where the Democrats cannot challenge long-term Republican incumbents. Period. Boy, that's really telling. Now, here's the next tidbit that I find fascinating. There's so many unique twists going on in this election.
[00:13:22] I think Newt Gingrich is just, they trotted him out as the old guard since Donald has moved more towards the Bush ideas, as you mentioned. They're hoping that the old guard will bring back and bring out the old Republicans, which they're hoping will make a big difference. I don't think it'll be near enough. I think many of those people are dead. And I think many of those people have been dismissed. And I think MAGA is angry.
[00:13:48] But here's the latest headline that I really find fascinating. And I'm concerned about it. And I don't agree with it. But I want to get your take. Sure. MAGA activists are pushing for President Trump to resort to extraordinary measures, including martial law, if they believe the midterm elections are rigged. What do you think?
[00:14:14] I believe the Trump administration has lost all credibility to come to us, particularly to constitutionalists, Sam, and say we need martial law. I mean, they already declared this election a national emergency. They did it in 2019 and just renewed it this year. We covered this on securevote.news, another project I'm involved with. And, yeah, Trump, I mean, you look at this pipe bomber case. They're still setting people up.
[00:14:43] They're still using the FBI to suppress evidence. Look at the Charlie Kirk case. Now, I agree with Trump. No way. But hold on. How can this happen under Trump and Kash Patel? Well, I think they keep trying to appeal to the base. They've told them that the elections are rigged. But they haven't done very much about it. As I was saying, they declared a national emergency, but they haven't done anything even with that power that they gave themselves. We're going to have QR codes counting the ballots in Georgia.
[00:15:13] They're not even counting the ballots on these Dominion voting machines from the mark or, you know, whatever that the voter indicates on a ballot. It's going to come through a QR code that's attached to the ballot. Nobody can read it. Nobody knows what's going on. It's a black box. It's the same problem we had that we've had back for several election cycles. Both Republicans and Democrats in Georgia have had this problem. It's been well identified. He's not getting the job done with the tools he already has.
[00:15:42] This is just hyperbole, I think, Sam. It's not a real. It's just something to try to rib anything to rib the base right now. And the sad part is I don't believe that they're going to deliver. And the real sad part is Trump has got this kind of pattern where he promises the moon. He says things that are right. He says things that are true that people identify with. For example, lock her up. The latest is he's not even going to go after Biden or Hillary or anybody for any of the shenanigans.
[00:16:10] He says it would be kind of a betrayal of the office of president. If he did, he can't do it. He won't do it. So he's not going after any of these people, he blatantly said. So the problem is he's got this kind of problem. He said he was going to get rid of gun-free zones first day. And we haven't seen that. So we're just seeing this issue where people are just going, who is Donald? Can we even trust this guy? He makes great promises. But at the end of the day, nothing happens. I mean, I even endorsed Cash Patel publicly.
[00:16:39] And now I regret it, Lou. Yeah, I understand. I was with you, Sam. I mean, I was hoping for the best out of Patel in particular and out of the Trump administration in general. You know, I didn't look at Trump's history and say, oh, this is a guy of high moral character. He'll be a great man and all this.
[00:17:00] But I did believe that his narcissism and the fact that the globalists and our real enemies in this world came after him so hard that his pride, his possible narcissism would cause him to work on our side. But it hasn't happened that way. It's been just the opposite in so many areas. I don't know where to go with this, folks. I really don't.
[00:17:28] And I'm really fearful that Republicans are going to get beat this election. Now, here's the deal. What do the Democrats need to do? Win three House seats and two Senate seats and they control both? They need to win three Senate seats, but they're going to win a lot more than two House seats, Sam. I mean, personally, I have said on my show, 20 to 30 seats minimum are going to flip.
[00:17:51] And I read this morning, Sam, that Mike Turner, in a deep red district in Ohio, who had been a chairman, Republican chairman, not a good one. He's a total rhino. But they are now the DCCC, the Democrat campaign committee, has launched a huge ad buy against him. And the Democrats don't have nearly as much money as the Republicans this cycle. They're investing this money because he's now on the vulnerable list.
[00:18:19] This is a guy that shouldn't be anywhere near the vulnerable list. This is a problem. The Republicans are having to defend across the board. They've identified 39 seats they thought were safe that they are now spending a lot of money in, which just leaves the more the challenger races and the swing races. They're gone. They're gone. They're just trying to minimize the damage. That's what's really happening. They're lying their heads off because, I mean, what are you going to tell a campaign worker two or three weeks before the election?
[00:18:49] You're not going to tell him all his loss. There's no hope. You're going to tell him everything you could tell him to get out there and knock on some more doors. But we're just talking reality here, Sam, I think. All right. So let me ask you this, though. Nineteen months ago when Donald Trump took the oath of office, and it's about right, everybody really felt like the Republicans were just dominant. They could be winning 28, 32, 36, 40 and beyond. The Democrats were on the ropes.
[00:19:19] It was like, oh, my gosh, how could they have belted down so hard, so fast, so totally and completely? And now it's all changed. Why the big change? Is it just that Donald hasn't kept his promises or is it more than that? Well, it said he hasn't kept his promises and not keeping his promises in terms of not getting into endless wars, which we're starting to characterize this Iran wars and endless war. There's people now saying we're going to be over there four years, eight years. Who even knows?
[00:19:48] The fact he broke that promise broke the economy because it disrupted the entire energy flow in this world. I mean, people are I just got back from Latin America, Sam. People are hurting all over the planet because of this war, because of how it disrupted energy flows and how it disrupted energy supply and made diesel so expensive in so many places, not just here. But it certainly made it expensive here.
[00:20:16] People, people are they've never had more people that they're repossessing cars from. They're talking about the whole financing system of automobiles may collapse because so many people are not making their payments right now. I mean, yeah, a lot of people are hurt. When you get a new car, minimum payment now is about a thousand dollars and people are just freaking out. They're like, I cannot pay a thousand dollars on my car.
[00:20:39] Insurance has gone up where insurance in your car tends to be more if you've had a home for a while more than your house payment. I mean, it is out of control. Well, and Donald can say whatever he wants to. But at the end of the day, when I have to get rid of my health insurance because it goes up 70 plus percent when I can't get a new car because the payment would be a thousand plus dollars. People are starting to realize it's not time to debate it. I can just feel it so hard. You can't change my mind. Now, this is interesting because I don't like this either.
[00:21:08] U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorses Ken Paxton. Calling him a defender of free enterprise and needs to be in the Senate. Now, is the Chamber of Commerce supposed to be endorsing candidates, Lou? Well, they always do. And even if they don't always endorse, the Chamber is very, very involved in politics. But they are not. If they're the Chamber, they're supposed to just help with the economy and be nonpartisan, right?
[00:21:36] Yeah, but it doesn't work that way, Sam. And, you know, the Chamber, the U.S. Chamber. I want Americans to understand this, though. Look, when you're involved in the Chambers, they're very political animals, baby. They just are. Yeah, and the local, I'm not criticizing any local chamber. And I've known a lot of folks that were active in local chambers over the years, great people, and doing a lot of great things in the community. But the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is downtown globalist, period, period.
[00:22:06] They are Davos all the way. The U.S. Chamber is not with us in any regard, Sam. You're right about that reality check. Now, this story is fascinating. And we're going to make this one show because we're covering the same topics the whole show through. So get ready for a Barnburner long show with Lou Moore, ladies and gentlemen. Well-known political activist. Well-known constitutional leader.
[00:22:30] Well-known author of the book called Forerunner, the unlikely role of Ron Paul and how Ron Paul really set the stage for a lot of this. And when Donald Trump took the page out of the playbook of Ron Paul and even Pat Buchanan to some degree, he was incredibly successful. Now he's betrayed that playbook. And that's why we see the problems we're seeing. Lou, that's my summation.
[00:22:52] Sam, Donald Trump had, after he won the election, first of all, he built a coalition, and you alluded to it, that could have lasted for generations. The reason we have so much government in this country right now is the coalition that FDR built in the 1932 election. That's the single biggest cause of all the big government that has happened since.
[00:23:15] It's all about building a long-term, broad-based coalition, which Trump succeeded miraculously. Miraculously, Sam, succeeded in doing in 2024. And now he's just destroyed it. I've never seen anything like it. Telling people at the Epstein files, if you think we should explore the Epstein files, I don't want you in my base anymore. Who says that? Who does that?
[00:23:43] Yeah, it's almost like Hillary Clinton calling half the nation deplorables. It's like, whoa. Why would you say and do those kinds of things? It's a serious problem. Ladies and gentlemen, we've got a bunch more to go on this extended TV broadcast. Spread the word, share the love, because we're telling the tale of truth. I've got Lou Moore with me, ladies and gentlemen. Former congressional chief of staff.
[00:24:08] Then he was the speech writer for the same leader of Congress. Then he was the national campaign manager for the Ron Paul campaign. We're talking Lou Moore.com. Hour of Decision. His incredible weekend broadcast hosted on LibertyNewsRadio.com and more. Mr. Moore is the author of the book Forerunner. Check it out. He's a political animal. He's breaking it all down just for us on your radio and TV. I'm Sam Bushman.
[00:24:37] God save our constitutional republic. It's worth it when you try.
