[00:00:14] From atop the Rocky Mountains, the crossroads of the West, you are listening to the Liberty Roundtable Radio Talk Show.

[00:00:25] All right, happy to have you along my fellow Americans, Sam Bushman live on your radio.

[00:00:30] Hard-hitting news the networks refuse to use, no doubt continues now.

[00:00:35] This is the broadcast for November the 14th in the year of our Lord, 2024, Hour 2 of 2,

[00:00:42] promoting God, family and country, protecting life, liberty and property.

[00:00:45] That's who we are, what we do on your radio in the traditions of our Founding Fathers.

[00:00:49] Yes, indeed, we use the blueprint for liberty, the supreme law of the land,

[00:00:53] the Constitution of the United States of America as our guide.

[00:00:56] The checks and balances brilliantly put in place by the Founding Fathers,

[00:00:59] one of the peaceful restorative solutions we still have at our fingertips.

[00:01:02] And as you know, folks, you can get involved.

[00:01:05] This is not a spectator sport.

[00:01:06] Welcome to the broadcast.

[00:01:07] We follow the Prince of Peace, which means we reject revolution.

[00:01:11] Unless it's a Jesus revolution, then we're in.

[00:01:14] Welcome to the show.

[00:01:15] I've got a great guest with me now, ladies and gentlemen.

[00:01:18] His name is Sean Teams.

[00:01:19] And Sean is the Operating Officer of Young Americans for Liberty.

[00:01:24] That's YALIberty.org.

[00:01:28] So I think it's like YALIberty is the website, ladies and gentlemen.

[00:01:32] YALIberty.org.

[00:01:33] Welcome to the broadcast, Sean.

[00:01:35] Hey, Sam.

[00:01:36] Thanks for having me.

[00:01:37] Great to be here.

[00:01:38] Tell me a little bit about you first.

[00:01:40] Who are you?

[00:01:41] Tell me about your growing up a little bit.

[00:01:42] And then how on earth did you get involved in YALI?

[00:01:46] Absolutely.

[00:01:46] So I came into college, age 18, big fan of Michael Moore, big fan of Michael Bloomberg.

[00:01:54] I was really excited to learn how to use government to lift people out of poverty and to save the world.

[00:02:01] And if we just had the right people in charge, we could do great things in this country and restore the American dream.

[00:02:05] But then my college professors didn't teach me anything about that.

[00:02:09] They just taught me that America is doomed.

[00:02:12] America is racist.

[00:02:13] You're limited by your gender or the color of your skin.

[00:02:17] And quite frankly, it was a bummer.

[00:02:19] And so I started to look for ideas beyond progressivism and that Bernie bro mentality.

[00:02:26] And I found Rand Paul and Ron Paul and Young Americans for Liberty.

[00:02:31] And I started to get excited by the ideas of limited government and realized that that was the way.

[00:02:36] Restoring our country to the founders' intent and leaving people the heck alone was the way to actually help people.

[00:02:42] Got involved with Young Americans for Liberty as a student.

[00:02:45] Been working full-time for them for now about eight years.

[00:02:48] And the rest is history.

[00:02:51] Tell me, when you first got on the campus and first discovered them, how did you discover them, first of all?

[00:02:58] Because I think that Yale has taken really the campuses by storm in many ways.

[00:03:03] But when I talk to college students, a lot don't know about it still.

[00:03:07] So the college campuses don't seem too friendly on spreading the message is why I'm asking.

[00:03:12] There is absolutely zero institutional backing from college administrators on wanting to get our ideas out there.

[00:03:19] As a matter of fact, these college bureaucrats, these mini dictators themselves, they like to try and suppress our groups from even forming or visiting the campuses in the first place.

[00:03:29] We've had students spend the night in jail.

[00:03:33] That's not an exaggeration, Sam.

[00:03:34] Spend the night in jail for handing out the Constitution and refusing to stop doing so on a public campus, exercising their First Amendment.

[00:03:43] So there are great forces at play to try and keep us off campus, and yet we persist.

[00:03:47] Nevertheless, we persist, as I think Mitch McConnell said about Elizabeth Warren.

[00:03:52] So we're on about 400 campuses across the country, and we see our role as to be the voice of liberty, reaching students with that voice of liberty oftentimes for the first time so that they can get involved with the fight for liberty, whether that's going out to knock doors for principled liberty candidates at the state level, whether that's learning how to run for office themselves, whether that's taking action on their college campus to overturn the free speech zone.

[00:04:19] Or to overturn the pepper spray ban.

[00:04:22] You won't believe how many colleges have pepper spray bans.

[00:04:26] Overturning the COVID mandates that linger on a lot of these campuses, right?

[00:04:30] They were very successful, our students, at the peak of the pandemic in overturning mask mandates, vaccine mandates, Bluetooth tracking apps that these colleges were using to track the kids.

[00:04:40] You know, it was ridiculous things.

[00:04:42] But I first heard about them when recruiters came to my campus and, you know, handed me a constitution and really opened the doors.

[00:04:48] So, you know, we've got students and full-time staff all around the country trying to build our army, spread the message, and I'd say it's working.

[00:04:56] Now, Ron Paul was a quiet congressman, did a great job for literally decades.

[00:05:01] Oftentimes he stood alone.

[00:05:02] They kind of nicknamed him Dr. No, but he stood against everything that was violated in the Constitution.

[00:05:07] But he really stood up for, stood tall for things that were right and good and honorable and moral and promoting God, family, and country.

[00:05:13] And towards the end of his tenure, if you will, at that, he basically started Campaign for Liberty.

[00:05:19] And then eventually that came to starting Young Americans for Liberty, or YAL.

[00:05:25] Are they two divisions of Ron Paul's efforts?

[00:05:28] So how does it work?

[00:05:30] So we were founded by Jeff Frazee, who was the youth director for Students for Ron Paul in 2008.

[00:05:38] And, you know, with Dr. Paul's blessing, we parlayed the student movement for Ron Paul into Young Americans for Liberty.

[00:05:45] So we officially launched as YAL on the day of Obama's inauguration.

[00:05:49] Said, hey, we are actually the real hope and change.

[00:05:52] Ron Paul and these ideas of limited government of the Constitution are what should bring hope and change to this country, or at least change back to the way it was founded.

[00:06:00] So Dr. Paul is a great ally.

[00:06:03] I mean, he's the godfather.

[00:06:04] I mean, we just had him speak in front of 1,000 students in Orlando this past August.

[00:06:09] He's a champion and inspiration.

[00:06:11] The Campaign for Liberty is a great organization as well.

[00:06:14] We all got to stand united in this movement.

[00:06:18] All right.

[00:06:19] So you're growing by, in my opinion, by leaps and bounds, really.

[00:06:24] You got YALCON, which I kind of find a cool name.

[00:06:27] YALCON 2024.

[00:06:29] Bear the Torch.

[00:06:30] It's your 15th annual convention.

[00:06:32] You guys have been around for 15 years.

[00:06:34] So people that were born are almost to join your organization.

[00:06:39] Exactly.

[00:06:40] It's incredible how many students, you know, they come.

[00:06:43] And for many of them, they're baptized in the philosophy of liberty already, and they've been around the block.

[00:06:50] You know, for some kids, it's just a real joy to watch them see and hear Ron Paul speak for the very first time and see the world open up right in front of them.

[00:07:00] So it's incredible stuff.

[00:07:01] I definitely feel like an old American for liberty at age 30, but they have not kicked me out yet.

[00:07:06] But it was truly a great event.

[00:07:08] We had over 1,000 students and legislators and movers and shakers in Orlando this past August.

[00:07:14] We've been doing that event every year the last four years, over 1,000 attendees each time.

[00:07:19] And throughout the year, you know, we try and hold regional events and a national event because gathering, bringing people together for liberty is the most effective way to inspire people to go the extra mile.

[00:07:30] When people realize, especially students, especially students, when they realize they're not alone and there are students across the country who are as inspired by these ideas, it becomes a lot less scary to speak out and stand up for what you believe in.

[00:07:45] All right, ladies and gentlemen, we're talking to Sean Thiem.

[00:07:49] He's chief operating officer over at Young Americans for Liberty, YALIberty.org.

[00:07:55] I say, yeah, liberty.

[00:07:57] Amen to that.

[00:07:58] We talked about Yalcon that happened back in August 2024.

[00:08:01] And I really like Bear the Torch because it kind of highlights what they're doing.

[00:08:06] Where do you get money from?

[00:08:08] You don't get money from government, so it's all volunteers and donations and such?

[00:08:13] Absolutely.

[00:08:13] Yeah.

[00:08:14] Beyond a reasonable doubt, we do not accept government grants.

[00:08:17] That would somewhat defeat the purpose of what we're trying to do.

[00:08:20] But we're empowered by thousands of supporters, individuals from across the country.

[00:08:25] I mean, people who were supportive of the early stage Ron Paul campaigns, people who are just sick and tired of what they're seeing on college campuses and want to empower us to be that change.

[00:08:38] People who believe that the states are what are going to save the country, fighting at the state level and the state government.

[00:08:46] Obviously, we're seeing a lot of disruption.

[00:08:49] And I'm very cautiously optimistic about the next four years in D.C. under the new Trump administration.

[00:08:55] But our political ends, Sam, our focus as an organization and what we teach these students is that you can make transformative change if you double down and invest in your community and in your state legislature.

[00:09:10] Because, you know, what you can do to throw your state legislature on overdrive, it's going to be a heck of a lot easier to abolish the income or the property tax or reduce the size and scope of government in one's own state than it will be to do so in D.C.

[00:09:26] And so, you know, we highly encourage students to get involved at the state level.

[00:09:30] And a lot of our supporters there, they're bought into that mission, too.

[00:09:33] Well, there's two phrases that I find interesting that relate to directly what you're talking about.

[00:09:37] One of them is by General Michael Flynn, and he basically says this local action, national impact.

[00:09:44] And I really think that tells the story quite well.

[00:09:47] Another one is make America states again.

[00:09:51] I like that.

[00:09:52] I like that a lot.

[00:09:54] We might have to borrow that one with a full full attribution to Michael Flynn.

[00:09:58] But, yes, it's just a few states in this country really did what the left is doing.

[00:10:05] You see what they're doing with sanctuary states and creating these blue enclaves, what Governor Newsom is doing, talking about Trump-proofing California.

[00:10:13] I haven't looked into that very closely, but I know that he's trying to essentially create a hedge against D.C.

[00:10:19] You know, red states can do that, too, to protect gun rights, to protect excessive taxation, to, dare I say, stop federal agents from coming onto state grounds, right, and saying, no, we're actually going to defend the people of our own state from the overreach of D.C.

[00:10:38] You know, that would be an incredible thing to see.

[00:10:40] And we're on track for that, I think, over the next couple of years with the champions who are elected to the state legislature thanks to Yowstein's knocking on doors.

[00:10:48] I mean, all it takes, just like Sam Adams said, right, you know, a small vocal minority, highly motivated.

[00:10:55] That's a paraphrase, of course.

[00:10:57] But some of these state legislators I'm really impressed with and I think can really create some beautiful things in certain states across the country to stand up to D.C.

[00:11:06] All right, let's talk about some of the changes now.

[00:11:09] Donald won.

[00:11:10] The House and Senate will be controlled by the Republicans.

[00:11:13] There's an unprecedented opportunity here.

[00:11:16] We need to be careful not to overreach and do what they've done before that we've been critical of.

[00:11:21] But at the same time, we've got to put together a powerful playbook, right?

[00:11:25] What would Young Americans for Liberty believe would be the most important focus points?

[00:11:31] Yeah.

[00:11:32] Well, I think some of this is already manifesting.

[00:11:36] With some of the appointments that we see.

[00:11:38] I mean, I think that if nothing else, Doge is going to be, like Trump said, the Manhattan Project of our time.

[00:11:44] You know, with Elon and Zizek Ramaswamy at the helm.

[00:11:48] The idea, the simple idea, the simple yet radical idea of finding ways to make D.C. more efficient, just like you would any company, right?

[00:11:57] Like Elon found out himself, you don't need 80% of the employees over at Twitter.

[00:12:01] How many federal bureaucrats are just sitting there taking up space and creating more problems for American citizens?

[00:12:09] And so, you know, with Doge, I think that if all goes well, and I think it will because, you know, I've met Vivek several times.

[00:12:16] He's a very smart guy.

[00:12:18] We could see transformative change like never before if we're able to shrink the size and scope of D.C. and separate the wheat from the chaff.

[00:12:27] I'm also very bullish on Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence, right?

[00:12:33] Putting people at the helm of certain wings of government who have been targeted unjustly by the government.

[00:12:40] You might remember a few years ago, you know, she got put on a TSA watch list simply for, you know, criticizing the surveillance state, right?

[00:12:49] For criticizing the surveillance state and switching from a Democrat to Republican and suggesting that she was at least friendly to Trump, right?

[00:12:57] Exactly. Yes, yes. Not showing complete and total disallegance, right, to the other side, to half the country, right?

[00:13:04] Wanting to be a president for all Americans when she ran as a Democrat was bad enough, was bad enough.

[00:13:09] And so I'm excited to see how she might reduce the skies and scope of the surveillance state and make sure it does not get weaponized against peaceful Americans.

[00:13:19] Because those are just the two apparatuses I think that are the most bloated.

[00:13:24] And that's, you know, there's a lot of bloated apparatuses in D.C.

[00:13:27] But our surveillance state is out of control, been out of control since the Patriot Act was passed over 20 years ago.

[00:13:32] And the amount of permanent bureaucracy, right, dare I say the deep state, those can take an axe to that.

[00:13:40] And Tulsi can, you know, help to steer the surveillance state, wind it down and actually, you know, use our intelligence to identify real threats to the country and not just political opposition.

[00:13:52] I think those two things alone would be incredible if seen to fruition.

[00:13:57] All right. The fact that John Thune got chosen secret concerns me big time.

[00:14:02] John's not a very, you know, in my opinion, constitutional guy at all.

[00:14:06] Then Mike Johnson holds on to speakership with the endorsement of Donald Trump.

[00:14:10] That's concerning a little bit, too.

[00:14:13] I don't really know.

[00:14:15] There seems to be some fly in the ointment, though, for this thing.

[00:14:18] And I don't know how that's going to work out, right?

[00:14:21] Yeah, we will see.

[00:14:23] I think that the trifecta with Trump's mandate, I mean winning the popular vote, winning every single swing state, it's going to be a lot harder for flies in the ointment to be effective with the backlash that they may face.

[00:14:40] And hopefully, you know, that will be parlayed into, you know, the backlash will be, hey, you're not reducing government enough as opposed to just, you know, blind partisanship.

[00:14:49] I don't know Thune very well, but I know that, you know, one of the only people that I trust outright as Senate Majority Leader was Senator Rand Paul.

[00:14:56] I'm a big fan of – obviously, he wasn't up for contention.

[00:14:59] So we will see.

[00:15:00] We will see if the recess is not called, if, you know, Thune will get in the way of some of these appointments, or if, you know, I'm sure you're following the rumors about the appointments for the Trump administration being done in an unconventional way that would lead to less tomfoolery.

[00:15:17] We will try and expedite these.

[00:15:19] We'll see how much he gets in the way of that or not.

[00:15:22] Again, I'll be wishing the best, and I hope that he uses his role to, again, just move things along and, you know, let the people and the will of the people work to reduce the size and scope of D.C.

[00:15:34] But time will claw.

[00:15:35] We will see.

[00:15:37] Matt Gaetz resigning immediately.

[00:15:40] Trump nominates Matt Gaetz to be attorney general.

[00:15:43] Well, many people are saying, oh, man, that won't go well.

[00:15:46] And if we're going to see something that would be either rushed through, people going along with Trump or stumbling blocks in the way, that's going to be the one to watch, right?

[00:15:56] Absolutely.

[00:15:57] And I think that this is by far the appointment that shows he means business about trying to correct the lawfare state more than anything.

[00:16:07] It goes to show that he's not going to roll over and forget about how the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago and how the Biden administration used its will to target him in the face of his political opposition.

[00:16:23] The one bright spot in particular about Matt Gaetz is that when it comes to the calculus of the liberty space, if John Bolton is mad, it usually means it was a good choice.

[00:16:36] And John Bolton is curious about Matt Gaetz being appointed.

[00:16:39] So that's a good sign in and of itself. Again, I think that if anyone is going to meet vast Senate opposition, it's going to be Gaetz, right?

[00:16:49] Because when he was fighting against the McCarthy machine, that obviously had ripple-up effects in the Senate.

[00:16:54] He doesn't have a ton of fans or rather a higher propensity of people who aren't fans of him in the Republican Party in the Senate.

[00:17:02] But again, he may not need to earn all their appointments if things go to recess and appointments are expedited.

[00:17:08] So I'd attribute this to who – if I remember who said it, I'd attribute it to them.

[00:17:13] But somebody out there said that if the Gaetz appointment is televised, it will be the one thing keeping cable news from going bankrupt in this era of new media.

[00:17:23] Because a lot of people will be tuning into that on Fox News and CNN if that is televised live.

[00:17:29] Well, I would televise it, but I'd choose the new media to televise it.

[00:17:33] And I would basically leave Fox and CNN and all these other yesteryear media clowns on the sidelines.

[00:17:38] And I would use the new media.

[00:17:40] And one of the places I'd go is YAL TV.

[00:17:42] You guys got a TV kind of stuff that you guys are doing now on your website too, right?

[00:17:47] We're very active on X.

[00:17:49] Our social media team has been fantastic about capturing things as they appear in the moment.

[00:17:55] And we put out a video, one of the first to break Trump's announcement of his desire to end the Department of Education.

[00:18:03] That video was seen over 6 million times, and Elon Musk himself shared that video attributing young Americans for liberty.

[00:18:10] So whenever government is to be reduced, right, whenever people are advocating to get these bureaucrats the heck out of the way,

[00:18:20] and or whenever there's substantial threats to liberty.

[00:18:23] I mean, we want to be on that.

[00:18:24] We want to be amplifying that because the more the people know, the better.

[00:18:27] Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

[00:18:29] So here's the question then.

[00:18:31] The liberals are discussing this now, and they're trying to make the case that it'll be almost impossible for Donald Trump to get rid of the education department.

[00:18:37] They say it's dug in.

[00:18:39] It's been around since 79.

[00:18:40] Jimmy Carter put it in place.

[00:18:42] Ronald Reagan wanted to get rid of it, couldn't.

[00:18:44] And they've been trying to get rid of it for 45 years.

[00:18:46] And others are saying, hey, there's too many reasons, regulatory and otherwise, why this can't get done.

[00:18:52] So the question to you is, will Trump deliver on his pledge to shut down the Department of Education?

[00:19:00] I think that Donald Trump is someone who, when he makes a public statement that is very specific, he is more than likely to follow through on it.

[00:19:11] Some people criticize him and say, well, he said everything, and that means he's saying nothing.

[00:19:14] But something so specific with that five-point plan that he laid out of what happens after the DOE is eliminated, I think it's specific enough where there will be enough forces at play where that could fall through.

[00:19:26] And it's very popular.

[00:19:27] It's a very popular idea with the grassroots and with among some of the people who he has nominated to be part of his administration.

[00:19:34] It is going to be hard.

[00:19:36] It's going to meet resistance even if Doge is able to lay off enough bureaucrats who would be opposed to it.

[00:19:42] Milton Friedman said himself, nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program, right?

[00:19:46] And any agency is a lot harder to get rid of once it's created.

[00:19:50] But I think that if any agency has a shot and has the momentum to be slashed in the here and now with the political climate as it is, I do think it is the Department of Education.

[00:20:00] And when it does, I mean, I'll be doing backflips.

[00:20:03] I don't know how to do a backflip, but I will learn.

[00:20:06] You're going to learn.

[00:20:07] If the Department of Education is eliminated, that's my pledge.

[00:20:10] You know, I think you're right about this.

[00:20:12] And here's my point.

[00:20:13] Nobody thought Donald could get rid of Roe versus Wade.

[00:20:17] Now, I'm not a fan of abortion in any way.

[00:20:19] I'm a pro-life guy 100%, but I will say it's not a general government decision.

[00:20:23] There's no authority delegated to them.

[00:20:24] It is a state-by-state discussion, and I pray states stand for pro-life.

[00:20:28] But he did it, and they thought he couldn't get that done.

[00:20:30] He also did some tremendous things relating to Israel in many ways that people thought couldn't get done, but he got done.

[00:20:36] And so, you know, there's a lot of things.

[00:20:38] They said, oh, my gosh, the economy is going to tank in 2016.

[00:20:41] Far from.

[00:20:41] Then this time they said the economy is going to melt down.

[00:20:44] So far looking good.

[00:20:45] So, you know, they say that he can't get things done, but he has this unique ability, I guess as just a scrappy New York businessman, to change the game and get things done that nobody thought he could.

[00:20:57] So I don't know what the next four years looks like, but I think he will probably get rid of the education department.

[00:21:02] And I applaud it.

[00:21:04] Yes. I mean, there's a viral post going around with someone who I presume is a self-identified progressive, and they said, well, you know, our reading levels are down.

[00:21:16] And, you know, the education system is just the quality is dragging, and we have all these problems.

[00:21:22] But Trump wants to get rid of the Department of Education, to which a lot of people read that and said, well, geez, it sounds like the Department of Education isn't helping a dang bit.

[00:21:31] So, you know.

[00:21:32] In fact, we had better literacy levels 45 years ago before that sucker existed, right?

[00:21:37] Exactly. You know, the war on poverty has led to more poverty.

[00:21:41] You know, if the Department of Education is a war on poor education, I mean, it certainly hasn't been succeeding in that front.

[00:21:48] You know, when it comes to making promises as well, and something that I know a lot of people in the young American slavery space,

[00:21:55] something a lot of our students are excited about, that we're all going to be looking at on day one,

[00:22:00] is whether or not Ross Ulbricht is out of prison.

[00:22:05] Of course, he founded the Silk Road website where you can sell whatever you want.

[00:22:10] He was imprisoned for life, right?

[00:22:12] Now, you know, double life sentence for simply creating a website, right, and allowing the markets to be free is something that I think is very unjust.

[00:22:21] A little prisoner for sure.

[00:22:22] Our prison system is, you know, out of control.

[00:22:24] And so he pledged at the Libertarian National Convention and says, I will free Ross Ulbricht.

[00:22:29] But, you know, I know his mother is very excited about that, Ross's mother, Lynn.

[00:22:33] And so if that doesn't happen on day one, I think there's going to be a lot of questions.

[00:22:37] But again, I mean, he's said it so many times.

[00:22:39] Well, you've got to free the J6 prisoners too.

[00:22:43] Yeah, precisely.

[00:22:44] So we'll see what happens with this, the Trump criminal justice system, for lack of a better term.

[00:22:49] It's lawfare and these unjust sentences are reversed.

[00:22:53] And if it's not, you know, or if it's slow going, I think that's an indicator that the deep state is still alive.

[00:22:58] And well enough that it needs to be slashed more.

[00:23:00] So that's something we're going to be watching.

[00:23:02] Amen to that.

[00:23:03] All right.

[00:23:03] We're about out of time, Sean.

[00:23:05] But I want you to just, what have we overlooked about Campaign for Liberty?

[00:23:07] Everybody, or I'm sorry, Young Americans for Liberty that everybody ought to know.

[00:23:12] Yeah.

[00:23:13] Well, like you said, YALIberty.org is our website.

[00:23:17] It's our handle on X and across all the major platforms.

[00:23:20] And I think that just to reemphasize a key point, you know, whether it's students knocking on doors or young people looking to run for officer, anyone listening to your program.

[00:23:30] I mean, so much change can happen at the state level.

[00:23:34] And I think that people need to understand that we have a lot more power over these politicians than they want us to realize, right?

[00:23:43] Twelve, a dozen or two dozen calls to your state rep about a issue that you want to see move, whether it's voting for a universal school choice bill instead of waffling on it.

[00:23:54] You make two dozen calls to that office.

[00:23:56] That legislator is going to feel the heat.

[00:23:58] They may think their reelection is at stake, and they might flip that vote.

[00:24:02] So if nothing else, the message from Young Americans for Liberty is to stand up for what you believe in and pressure your politicians because they will move accordingly.

[00:24:10] Sean Teem, everybody.

[00:24:12] Chief Operating Officer at Young Americans for Liberty, YALIberty.org.

[00:24:18] Thank you, Sean.

[00:26:00] A man who failed to break into Brazil's Supreme Court has killed himself in explosions outside the building, forcing justices and staff to flee.

[00:26:08] The explosions took place in one of the most sensitive locations in Brasilia, the square which is the site of the Supreme Court, the President's Palace, and Congress.

[00:26:17] The first blast was in a car parked near the court, the second moments later at the entrance to the court itself.

[00:26:24] Officials said a man had killed himself after trying and failing to enter the court building.

[00:26:29] There's no clue yet as to motive.

[00:30:24] Wow, ladies and gentlemen.

[00:30:26] Strange news happens on the fly when you're on the radio.

[00:30:29] I'll tell you that right now.

[00:30:30] First off, we just had on Sean Teams doing a phenomenal job.

[00:30:34] Chief Operating Officer over at Young Americans for Liberty.

[00:30:37] Yeah, Liberty.

[00:30:38] That's Y-A-Liberty.org.

[00:30:40] They do a tremendous job.

[00:30:42] Sean, on your radio.

[00:30:44] They talked about it in August.

[00:30:45] They had the YALCON 2024.

[00:30:47] Over 1,000 people attended.

[00:30:50] And they call it Bear the Torch.

[00:30:53] And 15th Annual Convention.

[00:30:55] Just tremendous work by those folks.

[00:30:57] A spinoff of Ron Paul's organization, Campaign for Liberty, and others.

[00:31:01] Just great work.

[00:31:02] Great people.

[00:31:02] And it's the next generation, folks, that are going to be taking the helm soon.

[00:31:07] Donald Trump won't be around forever.

[00:31:09] I won't even be around forever.

[00:31:10] And, man, you know, so the younger generation is who we need to look to.

[00:31:13] And that's why we partnered with We the Kids, by the way.

[00:31:16] And have the kids on.

[00:31:18] And they're on the radio talking about the future of America and what they're doing to make sure that it stays conservative and constitutional and moral.

[00:31:25] And, I mean, just tremendous work over there by Judy and the crew over at We the Kids.

[00:31:30] LovingLiberty.net doing a phenomenal job bringing in the younger generation.

[00:31:36] United We Pledge doing a great job with that.

[00:31:39] Liberty Village down in St. George, Utah, working on bringing the youth into the mix as well.

[00:31:44] It's really what we need to do.

[00:31:46] Y-A-L, Young Americans for Liberty.

[00:31:48] That's Y-A-Liberty.org.

[00:31:50] They got YAL TV where they're doing a lot on X and they're doing a lot on YouTube and stuff with some of their TV ventures.

[00:31:55] Great stuff there.

[00:31:56] The media landscape is changing towards the younger generation.

[00:32:00] So much so that the headline says,

[00:32:04] How Joe Rogan, Barron Trump, and podcast legends have led Gen C's cultural revolution.

[00:32:13] The blaze with that piece just highlighting the changes in this thing.

[00:32:18] And it is.

[00:32:18] It's amazing what's been going on, folks.

[00:32:21] It really is something.

[00:32:22] When you look at all the changes that have happened in the media,

[00:32:25] Donald Trump was literally late for a rally because he was on Joe Rogan's podcast.

[00:32:30] Joe Rogan's not even a traditional podcaster.

[00:32:32] Comes from the fighting world, right?

[00:32:37] Comes from the boxing and the mixed martial arts stuff, MMA.

[00:32:40] You know, fighting.

[00:32:41] Comes from that world.

[00:32:42] Does a podcast.

[00:32:42] Now he's top on Spotify and Apple and everything else.

[00:32:47] Wow.

[00:32:48] Not even a traditional broadcaster in a sense.

[00:32:51] But wow.

[00:32:52] It's amazing the changes that are happening.

[00:32:54] You look at, for example, the Epoch Times.

[00:32:56] You look at Liberty Roundtable Live.

[00:32:58] You look at LovingLiberty.net and all the talk show hosts there and the work that we're doing.

[00:33:02] And man, I'm telling you, I used to give speeches.

[00:33:05] He who owns the media makes the rules.

[00:33:07] And speeches.

[00:33:08] The new media takes center stage.

[00:33:10] And Donald Trump has managed to take that to the next level with Ron Paul.

[00:33:15] And now Donald Trump.

[00:33:16] They're leading the way, the older generation.

[00:33:18] But they're turning it over to the younger generation in meaningful ways.

[00:33:21] I mean, Vivek Ramaswamy, only 38 years old now.

[00:33:24] Well-known businessman involved in cutting government spending.

[00:33:27] You got to dig that.

[00:33:29] So there's a lot to this stuff that I just find fascinating, ladies and gentlemen.

[00:33:34] But Donald Trump kind of gave a speech that I've got here for you.

[00:33:39] And it says this.

[00:33:40] Donald Trump to shatter.

[00:33:44] Censorship regime.

[00:33:46] Wow, is that important.

[00:33:47] Because we started out the broadcast today by talking about Alex Jones.

[00:33:51] Alex Jones, InfoWars is being shut down in a video posted to X.

[00:33:57] Wow, Elon Musk helping out Alex Jones.

[00:33:59] Alex Jones correctly decried the sale of all of his assets, claiming that it was unconstitutional.

[00:34:06] And he encouraged his fans to support him on all social via new handles.

[00:34:12] So now even Alex Jones being forced to go to the social realm, the new media taking center stage, because they've tried to shut him down in the traditional way.

[00:34:20] The Onion, believe it or not, acquires the assets of Alex Jones.

[00:34:23] To me, that's just wow.

[00:34:25] Insider trading going on there.

[00:34:28] Purchasers at The Onion helped by the folks that are victims of Sandy Hook putting in their money to help this happen as well.

[00:34:36] To me, it's blatant political payback is the problem.

[00:34:39] But they, you know, received all the intellectual property, including the list of customers that Alex had.

[00:34:44] Now, if I wasn't a customer, I wouldn't want my name to be on the list that got turned over to The Onion, the Democratic clown show.

[00:34:51] Anyway, there you have it.

[00:34:53] John Thune, chosen in secret.

[00:34:54] So we've got a battle on our hands, ladies and gentlemen.

[00:34:57] And we can pray that we can solve this problem and have it done peacefully.

[00:35:01] That's my effort.

[00:35:02] That's my goal.

[00:35:03] That's my I want to peacefully restore the republic.

[00:35:05] Right.

[00:35:05] What do you mean Donald Trump to shatter censorship regime?

[00:35:09] And can we do this is the question.

[00:35:11] Because, look, they've tried to censor Sam Bushman big time.

[00:35:15] They've lied about me.

[00:35:17] Thank heavens my friends have stuck with me and they know who my character or who I really am, what my character really is.

[00:35:22] They know the truth.

[00:35:23] But, man, Rolling Stone, the Southern Poverty Law Center, IREHR, a lot of these clowns have really tried to besmirch my reputation and character.

[00:35:32] And thank heavens for good people standing by me.

[00:35:34] But Donald wants to shatter this regime.

[00:35:36] Now, he gave this speech quite a while ago during the election cycle.

[00:35:40] I can't remember.

[00:35:41] I think it's a year and a half old or a year old.

[00:35:43] But the question becomes, the reason that I'm playing it now and bringing it up is because will Donald Trump really deliver on this?

[00:35:48] I will do all that I can to help him do so.

[00:35:52] Here's President Trump's claim.

[00:35:53] If we don't have free speech, then we just don't have a free country.

[00:35:58] It's as simple as that.

[00:36:00] If this most fundamental right is allowed to perish, then the rest of our rights and liberties will topple.

[00:36:06] Just like dominoes, one by one, they'll go down.

[00:36:09] That's why today I'm announcing my plan to shatter the left-wing censorship regime and to reclaim the right to free speech for all Americans.

[00:36:20] And reclaim is a very important word in this case because they've taken it away.

[00:36:25] In recent weeks, bombshell reports have confirmed that a sinister group of deep state bureaucrats, Silicon Valley tyrants, left-wing activists, and depraved corporate news media have been conspiring to manipulate and silence the American people.

[00:36:44] They have collaborated to suppress vital information on everything from elections to public health.

[00:36:51] The censorship cartel must be dismantled and destroyed, and it must happen immediately.

[00:36:59] And here's my plan.

[00:37:00] First, within hours of my inauguration, I will sign an executive order banning any federal department or agency from colluding with any organization, business, or person to censor, limit, categorize, or impede the lawful speech of American citizens.

[00:37:19] I will then ban federal money from being used to label domestic speech as mis- or disinformation.

[00:37:28] And I will begin the process of identifying and firing every federal bureaucrat who has engaged in domestic censorship, directly or indirectly, whether they are the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Health, Human Services, the FBI, the DOJ, no matter who they are.

[00:37:48] Second, I will order the Department of Justice to investigate all parties involved in the new online censorship regime, which is absolutely destructive and terrible, and to aggressively prosecute any and all crimes identified.

[00:38:05] These include possible violations of federal civil rights law, campaign finance laws, federal election law, securities law, and antitrust laws, the Hatch Act, and a host of other potential criminal, civil, regulatory, and constitutional offenses.

[00:38:23] To assist in these efforts, I am urging House Republicans to immediately send preservation letters.

[00:38:32] And we have to do this right now to the Biden administration, the Biden campaign, and every Silicon Valley tech giant, ordering them not to destroy evidence of censorship.

[00:38:43] Third, upon my inauguration as president, I will ask Congress to send a bill to my desk, revising Section 230, to get big online platforms out of censorship business.

[00:38:57] From now on, digital platforms should only qualify for immunity protection under Section 230 if they meet high standards of neutrality, transparency, fairness, and non-discrimination.

[00:39:09] We should require these platforms to increase their efforts to take down unlawful content such as child exploitation and promoting terrorism while dramatically curtailing their power to arbitrarily restrict lawful speech.

[00:39:27] Fourth, we need to break up the entire toxic censorship industry that has arisen under the false guise of tackling so-called mis- and disinformation.

[00:39:37] The federal government should immediately stop funding all non-profits and academic programs that support this authoritarian project.

[00:39:47] If any U.S. university has discovered to have engaged in censorship activities or election interferences in the past, such as flagging social media content for removal of blacklisting,

[00:40:01] those universities should lose federal research dollars and federal student loan support for a period of five years and maybe more.

[00:40:09] We should also enact new laws laying out clear criminal penalties for federal bureaucrats who partner with private entities to do an end run around the Constitution and deprive Americans of their first, fourth, and fifth amendment rights.

[00:40:25] In other words, deprive them of their vote.

[00:40:29] And once you lose those elections and once you lose your borders like we have, you no longer have a country.

[00:40:36] Furthermore, to confront the problems of major platforms being infiltrated by legions of former deep staters and intelligence officials, there should be a seven-year calling off period before any employee of the FBI, CIA, NSA, DNI, DHS,

[00:40:55] or DOD is allowed to take a job at a company possessing vast quantities of U.S. user data.

[00:41:04] Fifth, the time has finally come for Congress to pass a digital bill of rights.

[00:41:09] This should include a right to digital due process.

[00:41:14] In other words, government officials should need a court order to take down online content, not send information requests such as the FBI was sending to Twitter.

[00:41:25] Furthermore, when users of big online platforms have their content or accounts removed, throttled, shadow banned, or otherwise restricted, no matter what name they use, they should have the right to be informed that it's happening, the right to a specific explanation of the reason why, and the right to a timely appeal.

[00:41:48] In addition, all users over the age of 18 should have the right to opt out of content, moderation, and curation entirely, and receive an unmanipulated stream of information if they so choose.

[00:42:02] The fight for free speech is a matter of victory or death for America and for the survival of Western civilization itself.

[00:42:10] When I am president, this whole rotten system of censorship and information control will be ripped out of the system at large.

[00:42:19] There won't be anything left.

[00:42:22] By restoring free speech, we'll begin to reclaim our democracy and save our nation.

[00:42:28] Thank you, and God bless America.

[00:42:33] All right, ladies and gentlemen, a quick pause.

[00:42:35] I am Sam Bushman.

[00:42:36] This is Liberty Roundtable Live hard-hitting talk always at your fingertips when I'm on the radio.

[00:42:41] I'll tell you that right now.

[00:42:41] Now, I don't agree we have a democracy.

[00:42:43] Donald, you're wrong on that.

[00:42:44] We do have a constitutional republic.

[00:42:46] And I'm not sure the tactics on some of this.

[00:42:48] We'll talk about it.

[00:42:49] But I support his point on free speech a thousand percent.

[00:42:53] We'll talk about it in seconds on your radio.

[00:45:10] Back with you live, ladies and gentlemen.

[00:45:13] Sam Bushman on your radio.

[00:45:16] It's just insane what's going on, folks.

[00:45:19] So, Donald Trump to shatter censorship regime.

[00:45:23] I pray he gets it done.

[00:45:25] I agree 100% with the points that he's making about free speech.

[00:45:29] I really do.

[00:45:31] But you know what?

[00:45:32] I have a problem a little bit with the tactics on this.

[00:45:37] For example, does the president just have the right to demand all the things that he's saying?

[00:45:42] That's a very big concern in my opinion.

[00:45:45] And I know people are like, look, Sam, we're out of time.

[00:45:50] We don't have any time for any of the garbage that, you know, we got to just get after it.

[00:45:56] I get it, folks.

[00:45:57] But you can't turn Trump into a king or a monarch on your way.

[00:46:01] You can't violate all the checks and balances.

[00:46:03] You can't violate the Constitution or you're no better than the other guys.

[00:46:06] And if you're not very careful, you'll set the precedence of constitutional violations along your way.

[00:46:12] So I support Trump.

[00:46:13] I appreciate him pointing to Congress and saying, I hope they pass a bill.

[00:46:16] And I want them to pass a bill to do this and that.

[00:46:18] And there's no problem with him saying, hey, this is what I'd like to see.

[00:46:21] And here's why.

[00:46:21] And here's the concern.

[00:46:22] And here's what's going on.

[00:46:23] And I'll sign it.

[00:46:24] Here's what I'll do.

[00:46:24] That's great.

[00:46:25] That's good.

[00:46:26] That's honorable.

[00:46:27] And we just need to be very careful about how this unfolds, if you will.

[00:46:32] So anyway, all I can tell you is I command.

[00:46:37] I command President Trump for his astute understanding of this, right?

[00:46:46] I really understand and agree a thousand percent with the idea of what we need to accomplish.

[00:46:52] I really think it's just tremendous.

[00:46:55] So I don't want to be critical of President Trump on this.

[00:46:57] I want to highlight it and say, look, let's make sure that we don't, in our zealous effort to just rip that sucker out entirely,

[00:47:06] let's be careful that it didn't destroy our country in a day and we can't rebuild it in a day.

[00:47:10] So let's let's make sure that we hold the moral high ground and use the checks and balances that we've been given by almighty God and by our founders to jettison the censorship regime.

[00:47:21] But let's make sure we do it in ways that can't be unwound or that can't be challenged or that can't just be law fared away or that can't just be caught in mire.

[00:47:29] OK, that's what we've got to really look to.

[00:47:32] Well, a huge Trump rock star decided that she's not going to take Trump's appointment.

[00:47:40] Alina Hanna or Haba.

[00:47:44] I guess it's Alina Haba is how you say her name.

[00:47:47] She's a lawyer for Trump.

[00:47:49] I guess she has now turned down the chance to be president elect Trump's.

[00:47:56] They call it White House press secretary.

[00:48:00] So I am officially saying publicly I am ready to be your press secretary.

[00:48:07] Donald, call me up, buddy.

[00:48:09] Let's get it done.

[00:48:10] I can be the press secretary.

[00:48:11] I can take care of business for you, my friend.

[00:48:13] And we can talk about how to carry that forward in a meaningful way.

[00:48:16] But trust me, I've had a lot of practice over 30 years dealing with the Southern probably lost under the IRHR, Rolling Stone magazine and all these dishonest clowns that have attacked me left and right.

[00:48:26] In fact, when you got elected in 16, they tried to attack me on CNN for interviewing your son.

[00:48:32] And I pushed back so hard against those clowns.

[00:48:34] They basically retracted and changed their story, Donald.

[00:48:38] So I got a little bit of practice and a little bit of a I don't know.

[00:48:41] I got the chops for it.

[00:48:42] Let's just say so Alina Haba not doing it.

[00:48:46] OK, I understand, Donald.

[00:48:47] I'm ready to go, buddy.

[00:48:48] You get a hold of me.

[00:48:51] And I'll start before we even have you sworn in before the inauguration.

[00:48:56] I'll start.

[00:48:57] I'll take on those clowns right away.

[00:48:59] By the way, a quick story before the end of the hour, just showing how bad the media effort is going.

[00:49:05] Viewers are fleeing MSNBC and flocking to Fox News.

[00:49:13] John Coblin with the story.

[00:49:15] I'm not a fan of this, folks.

[00:49:16] I get that you want to flee MSNBC, but don't go to Fox.

[00:49:19] They're clowns, too.

[00:49:21] OK, when they they put their finger in the wind, they, you know, back Trump when it makes sense for them to make money.

[00:49:27] But when they feel like it's just too hot in the kitchen, they bail and turn on Trump.

[00:49:31] Trump was against Fox right before the election.

[00:49:33] I'm just telling you, it's clown show.

[00:49:35] So don't flock to Fox News.

[00:49:36] But here's the interesting thing.

[00:49:38] Primetime viewership at MSNBC has fallen 53 percent from October and has jumped 21 percent on Fox News.

[00:49:50] So there's a lot of people just saying we're out.

[00:49:55] And, you know, when one drops 53 percent, the other one only gains 21 percent.

[00:49:59] Where are the rest of the people?

[00:49:59] And the answer is they're listening to Liberty Roundtable Live.

[00:50:02] They're listening to Joe Rogan.

[00:50:03] They're listening to Glenn Beck.

[00:50:04] They're listening to Alex Jones.

[00:50:05] They're listening to LovingLiberty.net.

[00:50:08] I mean, they're everywhere.

[00:50:08] Right.

[00:50:09] But I'll give you another example to make the point.

[00:50:11] The Rachel Maddow show.

[00:50:13] I mean, she's a clown in my opinion.

[00:50:15] Right.

[00:50:17] The Liberal Network's highest rated program.

[00:50:21] I guess I'm trying to think of how to say this.

[00:50:27] I guess they had one point three million million viewers on Monday.

[00:50:30] That's a million shy of her, quote, October average, according to Nielsen ratings.

[00:50:36] So the Rachel Maddow show is down one point three million viewers.

[00:50:42] That's it.

[00:50:43] That's all it drew.

[00:50:45] Wow.

[00:50:47] Joe Rogan blows that away.

[00:50:49] Right.

[00:50:50] All kinds of groups.

[00:50:51] The new media is indeed taking center stage.

[00:50:54] Well, we've probably got more listeners than that in a crucial ratings metric.

[00:51:00] Viewers under the age of 54 say that, hey, MSNBC is the one of the least.

[00:51:05] Watched editions of the show.

[00:51:07] She's melting down.

[00:51:11] Yeah.

[00:51:12] They've had an average over at MSNBC.

[00:51:15] They only have five hundred and fifty million viewers or whatever you want to say on average.

[00:51:19] So Rachel's their top one and they got one point three million viewers or whatever.

[00:51:23] But look, it's a route, folks.

[00:51:27] Think about that.

[00:51:28] Five hundred thousand viewers.

[00:51:30] I'm telling you right now, the place is going to melt down.

[00:51:33] Now, we talked about the onion buying Alex Jones's stuff.

[00:51:36] Alex Jones's stuff will probably sell for more than MSNBC stuff will sell for.

[00:51:42] I think about MSC has averaged five hundred and fifty thousand viewers since election day.

[00:51:49] That's a thirty nine percent decline.

[00:51:52] Wow.

[00:51:53] That number is huge, right?

[00:51:56] That's compared with the network's average in October.

[00:52:01] They're just down big time.

[00:52:03] I don't even know how to respond.

[00:52:04] It's so egregious.

[00:52:08] Yeah, that's prime time even.

[00:52:10] Fifty three percent loss.

[00:52:12] So I bring this all up just to tell you that the new media is indeed taking center stage.

[00:52:17] And I'd like to get together a few people.

[00:52:19] Maybe we could just buy MSNBC from those guys.

[00:52:21] Buy it on a on a fire sale.

[00:52:25] And partner with X and partner with Truth Social.

[00:52:32] Just think what we could accomplish.

[00:52:34] We had on our the pastor, a good friend of ours, a religious leader in a news media guy at the White House,

[00:52:40] religiously speaking from Idaho, who basically talked about that.

[00:52:43] He said, I want to buy CNN and take it over and bring the truth.

[00:52:46] Forget CNN by MSNBC.

[00:52:48] It's even worth less than we could make a play.

[00:52:50] Right.

[00:52:51] There's a lot we could do if we just tried.

[00:52:55] Anyway, there you have it.

[00:52:56] Now, some people are saying there's a big old bunch of conflicts at Trump's truth or social truth social media organization,

[00:53:02] because now Trump is whatever.

[00:53:04] And they're saying all these different people, Vivek Ramaswamy and other people who have kind of a stake in the company.

[00:53:10] If they do what they do, we'll have to jettison their stakes because a conflict of interest.

[00:53:14] Not even true.

[00:53:16] Vivek right now is going to stay in the private sector.

[00:53:18] He can do whatever he wants.

[00:53:20] He can make any proposal he wants to government of cutting spending and laying people off.

[00:53:25] And he can do that.

[00:53:27] He doesn't have to get rid of any stake in anything.

[00:53:31] So this is an example where they're making claims without evidence, without any information.

[00:53:35] There's no reason that the Vivek and team can't stand for what's right and still hold on to their private sector positions and jobs and investments and everything else.

[00:53:47] To say that they can't is a lie.

[00:53:51] Right.

[00:53:52] Right.

[00:53:53] Anyway, I just I'm shocked at how dishonest some of these people really have become.

[00:53:58] Right.

[00:53:59] Right.

[00:53:59] It's just amazing to me.

[00:54:01] But the good news is we the people are getting involved in more meaningful ways every day.

[00:54:08] And I'm telling you right now, the new media is indeed taking center stage.

[00:54:12] I've been telling you that for almost 30 years.

[00:54:15] And now everybody's jumping onto my bandwagon and all the different talk show hosts that are ratcheted down and controlled in the velvet hammers, taking them out at the mainstream press level.

[00:54:23] They're all ditched the mainstream press and beating them at their own game.

[00:54:26] I've been doing that before any of these clowns have support Liberty Roundtable.

[00:54:30] Will you please go to loving Liberty dot net donate liberally?

[00:54:33] Would you please?

[00:54:34] It's the only time we believe to be liberal when you donate.

[00:54:36] Just put a positive number and then add zeros.

[00:54:38] Okay, loving Liberty dot net spread the word.

[00:54:40] Share the love and God save the Republic of the United States of America.
